The Long Table is a private dinner for a small, invited group of New Zealand's business owners, leaders and professionals. A few times a year, we sit down with one interesting guest — and see where the conversation goes.

Less stage. More table.
No panels. No microphones. No name tags. Just twenty or so business owners, leaders, and professionals, a single guest, and the kind of long, unhurried conversation that doesn't happen at conferences.
No slides. No moderator running a clock. The evening is structured to let a genuine conversation develop — between the guest and a room full of people with something to say.
7:00 PM — Seated
Dinner begins
Guests are seated and introductions are made over the first course.
7:30 PM — The guest takes the floor
A conversation, not a keynote
A brief opening from the guest — their story, their idea, their provocation. Then the table takes over with questions and conversation that can go anywhere.

The Long Table brings together twenty business owners, leaders, and professionals from across New Zealand. The group spans medicine, insurance, professional services, consulting, manufacturing, the military, transport and logistics, technology, retail, financial management, tourism, brewing, and recruitment — a good mix of industries and backgrounds, all in the same room. Everyone's there to have a proper conversation, not just listen.

A quiet back room at one of Auckland's favourite Italian restaurants. The food is honest and excellent — the kitchen knows us, the wine list is good, and the room is perfect for a long evening.
